Problems and advantages of living in a large house

Since we upgraded our house, I wanted to share a few funny things that I have noticed with having a larger house, I am not complaining about my situation lol

  1. Electric bill is around 30% of what the rent costs due to so many lights inside and around the house plus aircon units running in the rooms
  2. We have palm trees around the borders to give the house shade
  3. We have never seen our neighbours, we don’t hear them either
  4. People ring the bell 2 or 3 times before you even get to the front door
  5. There is little privacy due to either a gardener, maintenance guy or a cleaner being around.
  6. You have to remember not to forget things, its a long way to walk back to the kitchen if you forget something
  7. Being on crutches for a few weeks is an absolute nightmare
  8. Remembering to bring drinking enough water around to your office or bedroom (can’t drink out of the taps in Thailand)
  9. Not knowing if someone is in the house without checking CCTV
  10. Remembering to lock all the doors every day and turn all the lights off
  11. Not going in some of the rooms for a week or month, could be problems
  12. The garden needs someone to come daily and work 20 hours a week
  13. If you lose something, its not easy to find.
  14. The swimming pool makes me feel guilty when I don’t use it
  15. When people stay for a holiday, they don’t want to go out
  16. The dog keeps burying stuff and we can’t find where!
  17. The snooker room is just a room to show people when they are getting a tour
  18. Family/friends can stay and you can all still get privacy and avoid each other. You can’t hear other people in the house, and you can all watch different programs.

Hard work pays off!
